Database Management
The role that database management systems play in businesses and organizations is becoming more and more important as the world of data continues to move forward. This course is an introduction to database management. It includes in-depth discussions on data modeling, E-R diagram, relational model, the SQL language, among others.
- Determine the data and data organization needs of businesses/organizations
- Apply the Entity-Relationship (E-R) Model for building data models
- Learn how to convert an E-R diagram into a relational model;
- Learn how to use database normalization
- Demonstrate the physical database design process
- Improve knowledge in data storage and indexing options, and demonstrate query optimization
- Use the SQL language in creating, manipulating, and controlling database
- Understand the client/server model
- Learn the key components used to implement internet database environments
- Demonstrate basic database administration tasks
The course will utilize lectures with presentations and interactive class discussion. Trainees will also analyze case studies with the supervision of the trainer.
